STYLE GUIDE
SUMMER AND THE CITY
April 29, 2015
Whether at work, or walking around the city, lightness and character will ensure your style is refined yet never boring.
As the new season approaches, the sun begins to warm both the city and our desire to appear fresh and glamourous even after work, ready to enjoy balmy evenings outside. The right outfit is the first step to achieving an impeccable appearance. This season's trends propose an array of airy blouses, dresses in tecnical materials, luxurious flaired trousers and multicolour printed skirts. An outfit that allows versatility, from day to night, from the office to a party in the city. An essential for your wardrobe this summer is a blouse: from asymmetric shapes with geometric prints by Proenza Schouler, to gabardine jackets by N°21 inspired by military styles and reworked with a feminine touch, to Stella McCartney's iconic prints, an ideal balance between sporty and trendy. Meanwhile, for structured jackets and double breasted shapes, bear in mind formality and rigour, concepts that are borrowed from the 'gentleman's' wardrobe and adapted for womenswear with bright nuances of colour and gracious pastel tones.
Style advice: pair airy blouses with skinny trousers or flairs in pastel colours, worn with wedges or high heeled sandals.
Dsquared2, Stella McCartney and Lardini all offer their own versions, of which Lardini focuses most on formality. This season however the jacket is not the only shape synonymous with formality; Acne Studios's sleeveless style is a passepartout for the entire day. Another must have of the season, a highlight on the catwalks and a style sure to make it's way into every woman's heart is the dress. Lightweight, coloured, sinuous and super feminine, the warm season inspires a desire for freshnesss and light heartedness in every look.
